Basil’s Table presents: The Human Library

June 14 @ 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Free – $25

Why in the age of social media and online communication do we feel so disconnected?

An old man sits by a fire telling a story to a group of adults and children. Process print after H. Thompson.

Stories teach us about life, ourselves and about others.

There’s something very human about sharing a story with another person in relaxed surrounds.

The Human Library is an event that aims to create and develop dialogue and understanding between people.

A story’s most important function is to remind us that we are not alone in the world.

How it works: the Human Library is a concept that ‘lends’ people rather than books!

I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of a Library – Jorge Luis Borges

Kelvin Club

Finger food is available from 6 – 6:30pm. Drinks are available from the bar.
